IMS Bifouling and Removal Works

Our team of certified divers are trained and experienced in conducting thorough inspections of ships’ hulls, propellers, and other underwater structures to identify and remove biofouling growth. We provide a comprehensive service to ensure that ships and structures are free from biofouling, which includes:

• Underwater inspections of the entire ship’s hull and other underwater structures, including propellers, rudders, and sea chests.
  
  

• Identification and documentation of any biofouling present, including the type and severity of the buildup.

• Measurements of the thickness of the biofouling, which can help determine the extent of the problem and the best course of action for removal.

• Inspection of any existing anti-fouling paint systems and assessment of their effectiveness.

• Identification of any other issues that may be affecting the ship or structure’s performance, such as structural damage or corrosion.

• Providing detailed reports of the inspection, including photographs and video footage, to the ship or structure’s owner or operator.

• Removing biofouling using specialized equipment such as Smart Kart 6 or Mark 2, or using a combination of methods such as scraping, brushing and pressure washing.

• Conducting regular follow-up inspections to ensure that the biofouling is not returning.
